Stangwrach Cottage Access Statement

General

  • The cottage has a ground floor double room and the wet-room and kitchen/dining/lounge is also located on the ground floor. The second double and twin are upstairs.
  • Stangwrach Cottage has an audible smoke detection system only. If specific requirements are needed in the event of an emergency, please discuss this with us prior to, or on your arrival
  • The most reliable mobile-phone networks in this area are Orange / Vodaphone
  • Any information supplied by the proprietor of Stangwrach Cottage can be produced in large print if required. Please ask
  • There is no public transport service to Stangwrach Cottage. For information on wheelchair accessible taxi services, please ask

 

Parking

  • Parking is available a short distance from the cottage on a gravel surface, with a bricket section that runs from the gate up to the cottage for unloading only. Short ramp to door. There is designated parking for this cottage
  • The parking surface is level
  • Lighting outside the cottage is good

 

Main Entrance

  • There is a ramped section approaching the main entrance, this door is wide (809)with inward opening, flush to floor threshold.
  • The enterance door has a lever handle with turn key lock.
  • The doors have glass viewing panels in the upper half of the door
  • Hallway is 709mm wide

 

Ground Floor Ambiant Wetroom

  • The white sink and toilet is colour contrasted against its background
  • There is a rain shower with additional second lower adjustable hand shower attachment.
  • Grab rails in shower area.
  • The shower controls are at a height of 900mm with a dial to switch on /off and adjust the temperature
  • The shower head is height adjustable
  • The height of the toilet seat is 500mm and there is a soft close toilet seat. Drop down grab rail one side and fixed horizontal in window recess.
  • There is a shaver point available
  • The flooring is Altro none slip. With underfloor heating.
  • Lighting is good within the bathroom
  • The sink has separate twist taps
  • There is a large touch light controlled mirror over the sink.
  • There are grab rails each side of the sink. Sink hight 79mm. Half pedistal.
  • The door width is 802mm.

 

Ground Floor Double Room

  • The height of the bed is 500mm, with a reasonably firm surface. Doorway 802mm.
  • The flooring is vinyl none slip flooring. no rugs
  • The door has a latch handle
  • There is storage available at a range of heights
  • Lighting is available at the bedside
  • Manoeuvrability within the room is limited, however furniture is moveable and can be rearranged to suite.
  • A specialist bed and electric portable hoist can be hired for this room if needed instead of double bed. (will incur a hire charge)

 

Kitchen

  • Most storage is accessible from a seated position
  • The kettle is cordless and easy to grip and operate
  • The microwave is not accessable from a seated position.
  • The oven controls are located at the front of the appliance. The grill is located above the hob can br accessed from seated position.
  • The sink taps are lever operated with a mixer tap.
  • The fridge is located on the floor and easy to access hight of 44mm from floor

 

Stairs

  • There is a wooden uncarpeted stair case with are 11 steps to the first floor.
  • The step dimensions are width 788mm; depth 240mm and height 200mm. Turn mid flight.
  • The stairs have handrail on right hand side, which contrast in colour to their surround
  • The stairs area is clear and unobstructed
  • The step nosings are not highlighted
  • The areas is well lit

 

Lounge

  • The lounge is on the ground floor
  • Manoeuvrability is good. Furniture is moveable, so can be rearranged to create extra space or integration into the garden room.
  • There is seating available with arm rests and back support
  • A TV and DVD is present, with the use of remote control and Teletext facilities
  • The room does have traditional beams, however they are well contrasted and should be easy to notice
  • Colour contrast is good between walls and furniture and the room is bright and airy.

 

First Floor Double Room

  • The height of the beds is 570mm, with a reasonably firm surface
  • The door has a latch handle
  • There is storage available at a range of heights
  • Lighting is available at the bedside
  • Manoeuvrability within the room is reasonable, however furniture is moveable and can be rearranged to suit
  • Floor is carpeted.

 

First Floor Twin Room

  • The height of the beds is 500mm, with a reasonably firm surface
  • The door has a latch handle
  • There is storage available at a range of heights
  • Lighting is available at the bedside
  • Manoeuvrability within the room is reasonable, however furniture is moveable and can be rearranged to suit
  • Floor is carpeted.
